Buxton Soroptimists were pleased to hear the discussion led by Marian Byrne on making life easier and more pleasant for people with dementia. They were sad, however to say goodbye to Marian at the same meeting. She has been a valued member, and because she is leaving the area, will join another group. Their gain is our loss. Marian's talk accented the use of facial expressions, smiles, and touches to calm and reassure those with dementia who might feel afraid of new situations. President Deborah Ward presented Marian with flowers and a gift and card from members.
