Wirksworth is known as the Gem of the Peak District and Wirksworth’s Hidden Courtyards and Gardens Weekend, which takes place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, gives visitors an opportunity to see this intriguing and quirky town.

Visitors to Wirksworth frequently comment on how Wirksworth people are so friendly and welcoming and the Hidden Courtyards and Gardens weekend is a unique opportunity to meet people and see those parts of the town which are usually well hidden behind garden gates and fences.

This year there are more than thirty gardens being opened to the public, ranging from pretty courtyards and small hidden gems to well-established larger gardens, and several gardens are opening for the first time.
