Buxton Soroptimists work to improve the lives of women and girls, locally, nationally, and internationally.
Sometimes alone, sometimes in partnership with other groups, this work continues year round.
In October this year, the Ladies of Cavendish Golf Club joined forces with the Soroptimists to provide practical aid for women and girls who are victims of domestic violence.
The Golfing ladies amassed a great number of toiletries which were added to the Soroptimists'
"Love in a bag" bags
These bags are given when and where there is a need. These particular gifts were donated to Crossroads Derbyshire, an organisation for the protection of young women, many of whom escape to the sanctuary of Crossroads, with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.
