All Saints’ parish church, Bakewell are proud and pleased to welcome “Moonrakers”, an Oxford based group of four folk musicians, to perform in the church at 7.30pm on Friday, 11th October, 2024.
Moonrakers pride themselves in having brought traditional and contemporary folk music to new audiences in village halls, churches, arts centres and festivals across the UK. The band presents a combination of traditional Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English music as well as their own contemporary songs and tunes and it simply oozes quality.
Becki Luff’s luscious Celtic harp is complemented by Jacqui Johnson’s superb ‘cello, backed by Jon Bennett’s bouzouki, guitar, whistles and bodhran. And Sarah Fell’s warm vocals combine perfectly with Jon’s rich baritone.
Do come along to enjoy an evening of superb folk music on Friday, 11th October, when Moonrakers will kick off their mini tour of Derbyshire and Yorkshire by performing in Bakewell parish church.
