The Peaks and Dales Line – Restoring Vital Connectivity: Following successful meetings in Matlock, Darley Dale and Chapel-en-le-Frith, MEMRAP is pleased to announce its latest public meeting, to be held in Bakewell Town Hall, on 27th June, 6 for 6.30pm. Please reserve a seat at www.memrap.org

The reopening of this rail service will reinstate the important transportation link between Ambergate, Buxton and Chinley, reconnecting Derbyshire communities that were previously cut off from each other. This improved connectivity will facilitate easier access to employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services for residents along the route.

Thirty six miles of the Peaks and Dales line “rail + trail” (TM) comprises 13 miles of full reinstatement plus 23 miles of upgraded line, together with a full re-provisioning of the Monsal Trail. The new trail’s enhanced accessibility will make it genuinely open to all, for the first time, including 30% of households lacking cars (per ONS).
