Rotary Repair Café becoming an Established Bakewell Favourite

Another successful Repair Café was held on the late May Bank Holiday weekend, but this did not seem to deter people. Well-staffed with volunteers including 8 Rotary Club members and 3 local people also doing repairs. We had 20 items brought in of which 10 were taken home repaired. 7 items were given advice on specialist repairs and 3 will be coming back after we have purchased the recommended parts. We had 5 sewing machines, a clock, projector, ancient hair dryer, dustbuster, floor steamer and 2 kettles in the electrical department, 1 bicycle repair, 2 general repairs at the glue and screw department and 4 repairs in the sewing section.

The Repair Café is now a permanent fixture in the Bakewell calendar with the next event on Saturday 27th July. For further details contact Margie, the Coordinator, on 01629 813638.
