A busy week for Hathersage Horticulutural Society raised almost £3350 for local food banks when local gardens were opened and a plant swap was held.
More than 420 paying visitors tour a dozen or so gardens ranging from small courtyards to huge grounds, wildflower meadows to allotments. Refreshments were laid on at various points plus a plant sale which helped to bolster the proceeds.
The weather for both events was fantastic and the plant swap in the centre of the village was busy all day with a continually stream of donations both horticultural and financial.
