Well Dressings, Carnivals, Open Gardens and Flower Festivals in and around the Peak District


Saturday 25th June-Sunday 3rd July 2022

Saturday 2nd July Carnival Day From 1pm Fancy Dress judging on the sports field, gathering of visiting Royalty, stalls, entertainment, hot food and a bar. The Grand Procession leaves the field 2pm led by the Hope Royalty and accompanied by floats with music provided by Castleton Silver Band and the Concorde AllStars. Entertainment throughout the afternoon followed by disco in the marquee on the sports field from 7pm, with a licensed bar.

Sunday 3rd July Communion Service in St Peter’s Church and a car boot sale at the college on the morning. Duck Race on the River Noe in the afternoon. All proceeds from the week are going towards renovation of the children’s playground on Hope Sports Field. Thursday 30th June 10.30am Toddlers Teddy Bears Picnic   Hill Race 7.30pm outside Market House  registration on the night or online

Friday 1st July 5pm Duck Hunt around the village for toddler to teenagers 7.30pm Barn Dance Live band Speed the Plough on school field BBQ and bar available from 7.30pm

Parade on Saturday 2nd July 2022 Fancy dress and parade start from 1.30pm at Leacroft with prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd for floats motorised, non moterised, groups and individual free to enter followed with parade along main street and after browse the stalls along main street until 5pm If you would like a stall along main street contact Emma Joyce 01629 650387 Tables £15 non residents, £10 residents or charity stalls Followed by school field for more entertainment at 7pm (small charge to cover cost) Money raised during this week goes towards supporting local groups




Saturday 2nd July-Friday 8th July, St Luke’s Church, Sheen, SK17 0ES flower festival, open daily from 11am until 5pm. This year’s theme is ‘Your Majesty’. 5th July 6pm Family yoga. 7.30pm Pram race. 9pm Darts and dominos.

6th July 2pm Afternoon tea at Memorial Hall. 4pm Scarecrow walk. 5pm Family swim. 5pm Book reading. 7pm Marvellous – a true story and the real people it’s about will be there for a live Q&A! 7.30pm Bell ringing

8th July 7pm Duck race. 7.30pm Family fun night.

9th July 12.45pm Gala parade assembles. 1.45pm Procession followed by events on the field with food, drink, stalls, fairground rides, inflatables and arena entertainment through to 5pm. Free Entry for all (donations welcome). 7pm-late – End of Gala party night. The week ends in style with a disco and live music from ‘The Burnt Stones’ alongside evening fairground rides. A family-friendly night, open to all, with something for everyone and great food and drink. Tickets £5 for adults, children are free. Tickets available on the Door.
