MIDDLETON-BY-YOULGRAVE MARKET AND WELL DRESSING

23rd May-30th May 23rd May Market midday-4pm. ‘Little Grey Fergie’ and locally owned vintage tractors on display. Teas, sandwiches and cakes available in village hall. Plant Stall. Locally baked cakes and bakes, books and records stall, bric-a-brac. Winster Morris Dancers. Tombola and skittles. St Michael and Angels’ Church open to see the flowers, listen to the music and visit the wildlife garden around the church. Free field parking DE45 1LS. Directions signposted. Roadside parking available.

 

24th May Blessing of the Well 6.30pm in the Square, followed by Evensong in St Michael and All Angels’ Church. For children there is a hunt to find where Little Grey Fergie’s friends are hiding! Hunt sheet from Information point in the Square. Tea Room open 10-4pm. Burgers can be bought in the Square. Middleton raffle grand prize draw! Tickets available at Information point.

Saturday 30th May-Sunday 7th June Flower Festival at Holy Trinity Church. 10.30am-7pm daily. Theme is “For All The Saints…”

 

Saturday 30th May Sheepwash Demonstration at Sheepwash Bridge, approx. 3pm. Duck Race at Sheepwash Bridge, approx. 3.30pm.

 

Sunday 31st May 3pm Well Blessing Service and Sermon at the Old Preaching Cross by the Very Revd Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby Cathedral: Holy Trinity Church, Ashford-in-the-Water. 3.30pm Village Parade and Blessing of the Wells, with Youlgreave Silver Band. Starts at Holy Trinity Church. Saturday 6th June 2pm Village Day with the Matlock Band at the Hall Orchard Playing Field, Court Lane.

 

Sunday 7th June Closing Service of Thanksgiving at Holy Trinity Church, 5.30pm.
