Next year, over the weekend of 4/5 May 2024, Darley Dale Twinning will celebrate 35 years since Darley Dale Town Council signed the original Twinning Agreement with the town of Onzain. An invitation has been sent to our French friends to travel to Darley Dale and join in the celebrations.
As part of the build-up to that occasion and to encourage more of our local community to become involved, we are holding an Open Day for everyone to have a "A Taste of Twinning
Darley Dale Twinning invites individuals and families to attend our Open Day. Please pop in between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday 29th April in the Ballroom at The Whitworth. We hope you will accept this invitation to come along and see for yourself the number of events/activities that have taken place since the beginning and what goes on during a twinning event including the organisation behind it.
You will see DVDs, photos, be able to talk to people who have experience of staying with a french family in Onzain and those who have hosted french families in Darley Dale. There will be entertainment from Darley Dale Brass Band, Winster Morris Dancers and MUGS Ukulele Band. For children there will be a rock painting area and free refreshments.
We hope to see many of you there.
