Jingle all the way

5k festive jog coming to Darley Dale in aid of local hospice

A Christmas fundraising run is set to take place in Darley Dale for the first time ever – raising vital funds for hospice care in peoples’ homes.

The Jingle Bell Jog – a 5k festive race or 700m fun run – is set to take place at Whitworth Park on Saturday 3rd December 2022.

All the money raised from the events will go to Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen’s Trust; providing free of charge hospice care in the comfort of patients’ homes.

Throughout 2021, the charities provided over 3,495 hours of care to patients across the Derbyshire Dales, including in Bakewell, Baslow, Birchover, Bradwell, Calver, Cressbrook, Curbar, Darley Dale, Eyam, Grindleford, Hope, Little Longstone, Matlock, Pilsley, Rowsley, Tansley, Tideswell, Two Dales, Winster and Youlgrave.

Becca Gregory, fundraising and communications manager at the hospice, said: ‘Events like our Jingle Bell Jog are vital to our future. The charities receive less than a quarter of their funding from the government so must raise crucial funds by hosting events like this one. Thanks to the remarkable generosity of our community, the care and support Blythe House and Helen’s Trust provides remains completely free of charge.’
