SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL, BUXTON AND DISTRICT

Soroptimists all over the world work to help other women. Healthcare for all, wherever they may be, is an essential part of this work

February's speaker at the Hargreaves Edwardian Tea Rooms, Buxton was their own member Sue Barber, who spoke about the history and latest developments in Blood Transfusion, which has saved many lives. Illustrating the talk, Sue referred back to an exhibition she organised for the Soroptimists, at the Devonshire Royal Hospital in 1992, entitled ‘Caring Technology’.

In the present time, Buxton Soroptimists continue to support the local women victims of Domestic Violence. They are also committed to other local, national and international schemes.
