AN APPEAL BY FROGGATT AND DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY VILLAGE SHOW

Froggatt Show has been taking place in all its forms since the 1930s. This year marks the 79th Show on Saturday 23rd August

For those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to attend, the centrepiece of the show is the marquee featuring all kinds of horticultural and art exhibits for all levels of ability and age groups

Outside the Marquee Hathersage Brass Band provides the classic backdrop to the traditional village show atmosphere .

Homemade tea and cakes are served in the tea tent and various craft and plant stalls are available for to peruse. Visitors can try their hand on the coconut shy or small hands at hook-a-duck whilst young equestrians show their skills and turnout in the pony ring

For many years our children’s entertainer, Dave Allen kept children and parents entertained with his puppets and balloons show. Sadly the years have caught up with this long serving entertainer – one of the last traditional Punch and Judy performers in the World

We have managed to secure the services of a new children’s entertainer, Mark Huntley – ‘Mark’s Magic Kingdom’ who has a hard act to follow with the toughest audience

Froggatt Horticultural Society has always tried to keep prices rooted (no pun intended) in the 20th Century in order to maximise show entries and attendance, keeping it affordable for families (children get free entry)

Unfortunately our costs are becoming very much 21st Century so we would welcome any financial support from local businesses which would help us to maintain the low cost philosophy

If you would like to help please contact our hon treasurer, Bridget Skinner: info@froggattshow.org

Any level of assistance would be greatly appreciated.
