BAKEWELL MAYOR SUPPORTS BAKEWELL AND DISTRICT FRIDAY GROUP – AND A PLEA

Bakewell and District Friday Club were pleased to welcome the Bakewell Mayor, Helen Garvey, to their lunch on Friday.

After two delicious courses, Helen gave a talk about what life had been like as Mayor of Bakewell which was enjoyed by all. She also presented a donation of £210 to the group to help them continue their work supporting older local people at risk of social isolation.

We are looking for helpers – could you spare 3 hours on a Friday every few weeks? The more helpers we have the more the load is spread amongst us. Whilst the group is for the members to socialize, a byproduct is the great camaraderie of the group of volunteers that run it.
