Peak Music Society’s second concert of the new season features an all-female trio, whose debut concert in 2023 was described as “ beguiling”.
The Portrait Players specialise in bringing 17th and 18th century music to modern audiences and their choice of instruments from that musical era make for a different musical experience compared with the more usual chamber ensembles.
Claire Ward (soprano), Kristina Watt (theorbo/lute) and Miriam Nohl (cello/viola da gamba) are in the midst of a busy concert schedule, which has included an appearance at this summer’s Buxton International Festival.
Graduates of the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music, they have individually worked with many of Euope’s leading orchestras and ensembles.
Their concert for Peak Music at 7.30pm on 21st October is kindly supported by Making Music’s Philip and Dorothy Green Young Artists Scheme.
