BIRCHOVER OPEN GARDENS WEEKEND

Despite the light showers over the weekend of 7-8 June, Birchover Open Gardens raised £3,400 (which included donations from Barn Farm Campsite and Birchover Stone).

Visitors enjoyed a variety of 20 colourful gardens and there were various stalls (pottery, elderflower champagne, plants, gardening items) and stone carving/ wood turning demonstrations dotted around the village.

Home made cakes and teas and coffees were served by volunteers in the village hall and in the church there was a display of beautiful flowers by Robert Young Florist, echoing the colours of the stained glass window.

Another colourful display of plants were donated by Fairways Garden Centre, Darley Dale and these were sold to raise further funds.

All Open Garden printing and posters were kindly undertaken by Northend Printing Company, Sheffield.

The Open Garden Committee would like to thank their main sponsors, Barn Farm Campsite and Birchover Stone and really appreciate all the help from local businesses, volunteers, stall holders, visitors and residents who opened their gardens.

The funds will be used to support and repair the church and village hall.
