CHRISTMAS FOOD AND TOY DRIVE AT ARC LEISURE, MATLOCK

Arc Leisure Matlock, operated by Freedom Leisure on behalf of Derbyshire Dales District Council, were delighted to host a ‘Christmas Food and Toy Drive’ throughout November and December to support the local community.

The initiative, organised in partnership with Hurst Farm Community Pantry (pictured) and Chesterfield Royal Hospital (Nightingale Ward – Children’s Ward) encouraged donations from Arc Leisure customers and staff of food which was given to Hurst Farm Community Pantry to support local families in Matlock, and toys which were gifted to the Children’s Ward at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, spreading joy to young patients over the festive season.

Christmas can be a challenging time for many, and Freedom Leisure were proud to play their part in supporting the local community during this period. The food donations providing assistance to those in need and the toys bringing smiles to the faces of children having to spend Christmas in hospital.

Liam Pickard, Healthy Communities Manager for Freedom Leisure in Derbyshire Dales said, “It can be a hard time for many communities and families over the Christmas period, and we just wanted to do as much as we can to help support these people. We have had such a great response from the public with lots of food and toy donations throughout December at Arc Leisure Matlock, and it was an honour to be able to pass them on to Hurst Farm Community Pantry and Chesterfield Royal Hospital.”

Due to the overwhelming generosity of leisure centre users, Arc Leisure are excited to announce that they plan to continue supporting Hurst Farm Community Pantry into the New Year.

Freedom Leisure would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this initiative and made it such a success.
