The 10th Cromford Garden and Produce Show took place on Bank Holiday Monday with a bumper set of entries.
As usual the standard was extremely high and a tribute to the skills of the local gardeners.
Many thanks to all who took part and everyone who helped run the show (and the plant sale in May which raised money for the Show)
The winners were:
• Best entry in the vegetables section: David Toone for his display of onions
• Best entry in the fruit section: Gwynneth Beck for her Victoria plums
• Best entry in the flowers and plants section: Ruth Baker for her vase of mixed blooms
• Best entry in the baking and preserves section: Carole Moore’s Victoria sandwich style cake.
Points winners:
• 1st: Judith Lee (43 points)
• 2nd: Barbara Bowman (20 points)
• Joint 3rd: Gwynneth Beck and Ruth Baker both with 17 points
Five year old Robin Tyler was awarded a garden token for her efforts. She gained 6 points, won in direct competition against adult entries. Well done Robyn!
