Debbie Steeples, Group Lead Volunteer of Darley Dale Scout Group was delighted to receive a cheque from Councillor Susan Hobson from the DCC Community Leadership Funding. She said ‘Without grants and donations we would not be able to run such an exciting and varied program for local youngsters. This cheque enabled the Beaver Scouts to make wooden Christmas trees. The activity saw them using power tools and hand tools under close supervision. They were really proud of their wonderful creations.’
Darley Dale Scouts provide weekly sessions for over 60 youngsters from the local area. They are full across all 3 sections. They are always looking for adult volunteers as well as sources for funding.
