DERWENT VALLEY FLORAL ARTS

Derwent Valley Floral Arts enjoyed a wonderful demonstration of home grown flowers by Pam at Quirky Flowers. Pam grows all her flowers and foliage on her husband’s farm near Leek, Staffordshire apart from the roses which are in a polytunnel. Without the use of oasis blocks all the pieces were colourful and varied. Pam is very knowledgeable on her flower names and answered member’s queries satisfactorily. Members who won the floral pieces in the raffle were very happy indeed. The evening was rounded off nicely with tea and cake. The next meeting is on 2nd October when the demonstrator is Helen Chambers – ‘Aspects of Autumn’. We meet at Calver Village Hall at 7.30pm. Visitors are very welcome.
