Over 70 girls from across the Bakewell and Hope Valley district of Girlguiding joined together in Calver village hall for 4 hours of fun and excitement for dancing, crafts and some traditional games. They all had fun, making friends and learning new skills, especially when they painted on silk for their craft. It was lovely seeing all ages across our units working together and obviously having fun with their volunteer leaders who all helped to make the event successful.
Comments made by the girls included: “The silk painting was my favourite, I have asked for some for Christmas” – Lottie (7),
“I loved dancing to the frozen theme music” – Katie (6),
“It was really nice to get together” – Biba (5),
“I really enjoyed the dancing and crafts. The whole day was amazing” – Martha (12)
The Guide also said, “to the Leaders who attended, thank you for taking time out of your weekend to arrange a wonderful gathering”.
