As the seasons turn again, we have celebrated Whitsuntide. Numerous visitors have walked along the Peak Wesley Way, a Pilgrim Path through our Hills and Dales with accommodation provided in chapels along the way. https://peakwesleyway.com/

We pray regularly for those people who are mentioned on the memory cards on our prayer tree. Please continue to bring your requests on Monday morning. We usually pray for those people and more at our growing Wednesday prayer group at 9:30am.

We have celebrated with a Bakewell Churches Together float, based on Children’s TV characters, at Bakewell carnival. We also provide hospitality at the Chatsworth Country Fair.

We are pleased to introduce our new minister, Rev Tim Morris, who is going to introduce himself:

Rev Tim Morris, Methodist Minister

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself as the new Methodist Minister of the Peak Methodist Circuit.

Originally from Hampshire, I’ve lived and ministered in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Married to Alison, we also have two adult sons, Samuel and Jacob.

People and places are very important to me. I’m privileged to share in people’s stories – joining in their journey, in times of joy and sorrow. I also enjoy the history, space and memory of places – whether that be church, or chapel; market place, or village hall; hill, vale, moor, mountain, or the back garden! Places hold special connections for us.

Having been a student at Cliff College (Hope Valley) more years ago than I care to remember, and having lived in Ashbourne for 15 years, we are looking forward to being in the Peak again. We will be living in Hathersage.

You are warmly invited to his welcome service on Saturday 6th September at 6pm at Bakewell Methodist Church.
