MEDWAY CENTRE GRANT SUCCESS

John Shufflebottom and Ian Copestake from Derbyshire Masons present the award to Nic Wilson and Sheila Sidebottom from the Medway committee

As part of their ongoing committment to support local good causes, the Freemasons of Derbyshire, through the Provincial Grand Charity, have given out grants to various organisations across the county. Bakewell's Dorothy Vernon Lodge nominated the Medway Community Centre to receive funds in recognition of outstanding service in support of the community. At a Community Awards Ceremony held at the Grand Lodge in Derby members of the Medway Committee were presented with £1,000 to go towards upgrading the chairs at the Centre.

The Chair of the Medway Centre Community Association, Nic Wilson, said "It was humbling to see all the groups that the Freemasons are supporting this year and to be included in their number. We are delighted to have received this award. Having just celebrated our 25th Anniversary these funds will go towards securing the fabric of the Centre for the next 25 years. We have already raised over nine thousand pounds towards buying the these and we are happy to add this to the pot."

The Adopt a Seat campaign is still open for donations. For further details contact enquiries@medwaycentre.co.uk or telephone us on 01629 813638.
