A resident at a Hathersage home marked her 105th birthday with an intimate party.
Marjorie Giddins lives at MHA Moorland House and celebrated her birthday surrounded by close family members.
Marjorie has been living at the home since 2019, was born in Norfolk and worked as a PA to a director at NIAB Cambridge.
The kitchen team at the home prepared a birthday cake for her which was enjoyed by all.
Marjorie received plenty of gifts and cards from her family and the home, but her favourite was the Telegram from the King.
Tina Kerr, activities coordinator said, “Marjorie had a wonderful day celebrating her birthday.
“She is still very alert despite being 105 and was completely aware it was her birthday.
“Marjorie had plenty of family members come to visit here and she was very happy to see them.
Staff members and fellow residents sang her Happy Birthday, and we all enjoyed some cake.
“She received plenty of gifts and cards, including a handmade one made by residents.
“Her favourite one by far was the telegram from the King, and you could see how proud she was when she saw it.
“The family were very happy with what had been arranged, and we received some lovely feedback from them.”
