Another successful Quiz Night at the Medway
Rotary Bakewell raised some £800 for their community grants scheme and local charities at another well-attended fun night on 21st March. Sixteen teams took part in the popular and challenging event with veteran quizmaster, John Kelcey with Sue on the scoreboard. Lots of good prizes for the winning teams, and in the raffle. As always super food from Margie Stuckey, Sue Taylor and Tom GF Marshall – and Mary Ingham’s famous trifle. Many thanks again to our sponsors, Thornbridge Brewery and Aldi Bakewell.
Presentation to Hopes and Homes for Children
The club recently donated another £300 to Hope and Homes for Children, an internationally renowned charity which is run by Mark Waddington CBE. During March the Treasury had agreed to match any donations – and a local businessman would also add the same – enabling our £300 to end up tripling and assisting the charity by £900.
Marks wife, Romance joined our 26th March twilight meeting to receive the cheque!
