THE MATLOCK G&S SINGERS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS

As the new singing year appears around the corner, The Matlock G&S Singers, fast on the heels of their acclaimed summer show - The ‘Unique’ Mikado, are hoping to swell their ranks across all voice parts.

We are looking to recruit new members who enjoy singing and evenings of fun!

The Singers will perform several concerts over the next year, including singing at Haddon Hall at Christmas, winter concerts of light seasonal music for other groups in the community, a Spring Concert in Matlock and of course culminating with one of our highly thought of staged G&S shows, often produced with a quirky twist!

We do not hold formal auditions to join the Singers and no prior experience is necessary. Being able to read music is helpful, but not essential. A definite plus is the ability to laugh, have fun and enjoy meeting like minded people!

Our Musical Director, Melanie Gilbert (no relation) says, “Our singing group welcomes anyone who wants to enjoy singing and performing varied types of music for many different audiences. Our concerts and shows have great feedback and reports from our audiences. We are a really sociable group and welcome all new members as friends, it is a pleasure to lead this Society”.

We rehearse Friday evenings 7.30-9.30pm at All Saints Church Hall, Smedley Street, Matlock DE4 3JG .There is plentiful parking on rehearsal evenings, and coffee and biscuits at half time.
