- 1 min read

Long sunny days in the Spring and Summer of 2025 were the backdrop to a wonderful year for birds both in the woodland on Froggatt Edge and the wetland in Lincolnshire which Brian manages as mini nature reserves. A lot was going on – Pied Flycatchers, Marsh Harriers and Barn Owls all had a successful breeding season. Accompanied by photos and videos the Group’s chairman will describe how the year unfolded very differently in the two places. From March to August there were birds, frogs, hares and adders and a surprise right at the end of the Summer.
The talk will be preceded by a short AGM.
As usual the talk will be at The Friends Meeting House in Bakewell at 7.30pm. Visitors are welcome to attend the AGM or arrive later around 8pm. Friends Meeting House is at the end of Chapel Row off Matlock Street in Bakewell, next to the Methodist Church, almost opposite the Co-op filling station. DE45 1EL. Guests are always welcome to the talks (£4) where they can discover more about the talks and outdoor meetings to local birding hot spots, which this year start on 9th April with a visit to Burton Mere.
