Bakewell Choral Society are holding their Spring Concert on Saturday, 25th April at Bakewell Parish Church starting at 7.30pm. The programme consists of three very much-loved Choral Works, Gloria by Vivaldi, Magnificat by Rutter and Magnificat by Pergolesi. The concert is conducted by Alan Eost, and is accompanied by the South Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.

Bakewell Choral Society has a policy of encouraging young soloists, and like to use promising ones who are just starting out on their careers. The soprano soloist is Olivia Thompson, who gained a MMus Vocal Performance Distinction in 2024, and her performance experience spans solo and ensemble work across UK and internationally. The mezzo-soprano soloist is Tabitha Smart from Sheffield, who is currently in her 4th year of undergraduate study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Tickets for the concert are available from Maxwell’s Bookshop, Unit 9, Orme Court, Granby Road Bakewell, on line at bakewellchoral.co.uk, or on the door.
