LEARN, SING AND PERFORM: EXPLORE THE NEW SEASON WITH THE DERBYSHIRE SINGERS

The 52nd Season for the Derbyshire Singers began on 2 September 2025, and an exciting season is in prospect. In addition to the regular programme of four concerts, the season also includes two participative events.

Come and Sing Day

• 27 September 2025 at Highfields School, Lumsdale, Matlock. Join a day-long workshop exploring choruses from Handel’s Messiah and choruses from other favourite oratorios. No audition required—open to all singers. Prospective members can also attend the first two rehearsals of our new season, without obligation.

• Haydn’s Creation Workshop on 2 May 2026 at Highfields School, Lumsdale, Matlock. Leader: Neil Ferris (President, Derbyshire Singers; Chorus Director, BBC Symphony Chorus; Artistic Director, Sonoro) A deep dive into Haydn’s masterpiece.

The concerts for the rest of the season are:

• 8 November – Handel’s Messiah, St John’s, Ashbourne

• 6 December – Christmas Concert at Highfields School

• 21 March 2026 – Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle

• 11 July 2026 – Season finale featuring well-known opera choruses and arias
