Bakewell Rotary Supports local Schools

During the summer term the Rotary Club of Bakewell has been working with and supporting local schools. Rotarians acted as judges and provided prizes in the Lady Manners junior and senior debates.

A group of Lady Manners students were also treated to half a day sailing on Carsington reservoir.

We provided a grant of £500 to enhance the forest school provision at Rowsley Primary School which purchased a storage hut and whittling equipment.

Curbar primary school was given £250 worth of toys for outside playground use. The 623 after school club in Calver received £500 to spend on cooking and food preparation equipment.

Another round of small grant opportunities for local schools and community groups and activities will be available in the Autumn.
