WORMHILL WELL DRESSING 23-31 AUGUST 2025

Updated: Sep 3

ree

For one week a year the normally quiet farming village of Wormhill is transformed as 100s of people from far and wide visit the well dressings and enjoy home made refreshments in the village hall. Many make the pilgrimage every year and are welcomed back as old friends.

Two wells are dressed; the James Brindley (civil engineer) Memorial Well, and the Churchyard Well. This year the Brindley Well design commemorates the end of WW2, it's theme is Hargate Hall, Wormhill which was a Red Cross Convalescence Hospital during the War. It is now holiday apartments and a wedding venue. The Churchyard Well theme remains a secret! Both wells are designed by people in the village. Proceeds raised go towards local charities and good causes in the village.
