MATLOCK MUSIC PRESENTS LIVE MUSIC IN THE DALES SIQI HUANG – PIANO

Matlock Music Society concludes its very successful 2025/26 season with a concert on Friday 8th May given by Siqi Huang, the internationally acclaimed pianist.
Having achieved the highest score in the Guangdong Provincial Entrance Examination for Piano, Siqi was accepted into the Shanghai Conservatory of Music for her undergraduate studies. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. She has already performed in several European countries, winning prizes in Germany, Italy and Switzerland, earning high praise and recognition for her artistry and musical sensitivity.
Her very varied programme will include works by Handel (Suite No 2), Respighi (Notturno), Haydn (Sonata in F), Franck (Prélude, Choral et Fugue) and Rachmaninoff (Sonata No 1).
Do go alongfor what promises to be an exciting evening of live, first-class music-making to conclude the 2025/26 season.
The concert is at the Wheeldon Hall, Highfields School, Lumsdale, off the Chesterfield Road, Matlock, DE4 5NA starting at 7.30pm. Tickets at £15 will be available at the door. Under 18s are free and students and registered job-seekers pay half-price. All seats are unreserved. There is ample parking at the school.
The Society’s 2026/27 season starts on 9th October and details will be given on the society’s website. Concerts will include cellist Gerard Flotats, Baroque Alchemy, Aquinas Piano Trio and a group of singers from the RNCM.
