PARROT PLAYTIME – A FUN TRAIL FOR THE KIDS!

Tissington has been overrun with parrots!

Annie and Ed, owners of On A Wick & a Prayer in Tissington village, have been pondering ways to attract more visitors to the village.

Tissington is a beautiful, unspoilt village, with its Hall dating back to 1609 (please check their website for open days). The village boasts 5 wells and enjoys its well dressing celebrations every year (this year from the 13th to the 20th May), there is the well-known Tissington trail all very lovely but perhaps not that exciting for little ones?

So they came up with the idea of a Parrot Playtime trail. Just some simple fun to keep the children entertained as you enjoy a walk around.

From February half term pop in to On a Wick & a Prayer (open Tuesday-Friday 10-4 and weekends and bank holidays 11-4pm) and pick up one of their Parrot Playtime clipboards. As you and the kids wander around the village you will notice the brightly coloured parrots dotted around. Every parrot has been especially named. Find 5 parrots and write their names on the flyer and then return to the shop to claim a free parrot to take home!
