Baslow St. Anne’s CE Primary School Tiger Class Reception and Year 1 and Leopard Class Year 1 and 2 put their enterprise skills into action and managed to raise a phenomenal grand total of £2,724.70 for Children in Need.
The children worked together as a team and collaborated in deciding to hold a sponsored walk into Chatsworth, where they had a hot chocolate and Pudsey biscuit before returning to school.
They also used their financial and literacy skills, deciding to ask for donations of books and toys to hold a sale for the rest of the school on Children in Need Day, where the junior children had the opportunity to buy the donated items.
To add to the fun, the children came to school in their Pudsey attire and non-school uniform. The day was wrapped up with a cake sale, raising further funds for the charity. The children really enjoyed being shop owners, selling their wares, walking to Chatsworth and eating lots of cake – raising a record breaking amount for such a small primary school!
