CHRISTMAS FAIR AT MHA MOORLAND HOUSE

ree

MHA Moorland House in Hathersage got into the festive spirit thanks to their Christmas fair which helped them to raise more than £380 with more than 75 people attending.

There were plenty of stalls to visit, some selling handmade items including crafts, baby knitwear and accessories. There were also lots of refreshments including mince pies, with mulled wine, tea and coffee to keep everyone hydrated.

The funds raised will go towards the homes amenities fund, from which a series of day trips will be planned.

MHA Moorland House provides residential care for 48 residents.

Tina Kerr, activities coordinator said, “We are all very impressed with the outcome of the Christmas fair. We had a really good turnout and received a lot of support from our community.

“The success of the fair was a real team effort from all involved including staff and our amazing volunteers.

“We managed to raise just over £380.00, which in two hours is very impressive and we are all very grateful.

“We received some great feedback from visitors on how much they enjoyed the day, which was very reassuring.

“With the money raised, we are hoping to plan some day trips for the residents and will look to arrange them soon.

“Once again, on behalf of everyone at the home, I want to thank each and every one for their support in ensuring the fair was a success.”
