The Farming Life Centre (FLC) is opening a series of warm, welcoming community spaces in Ashford-in-the-Water and Bradwell this winter, offering residents a place to relax, connect, and enjoy good company during the colder months.
Thanks to funding from Derbyshire Voluntary Action, the warm spaces will run from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at Ashford Village Hall on 21 January and 18 February and at the Bradwell Sports Pavilion on 18 December, 22 January and 26 February.
The initiative comes amid growing concerns that rising heating costs may make it difficult for some households to stay warm, potentially affecting both physical and mental health. FLC’s warm spaces aim to provide a calm, comfortable environment for anyone who needs it — whether that’s a quiet place to unwind, a gentle social setting, or a shared working-from-home space with free Wi-Fi.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy free tea, coffee, and cake, with unlimited hot drink refills on offer. A selection of puzzles and magazines are available to enjoy at your own pace.
