The event, open from 10am-4pm, will see the streets of the historic village lined with local food and art, with live music and street entertainment throughout the day. Entry is free and so is parking, with donations going to the local Scouts.

One of the organisers, Jules Fell, said “We are delighted to announce Tideswell’s famed food festival is returning once again. The streets of our historic village are set to be lined with over 50 stalls selling a wide range of locally produced food, both fresh, hot street food to eat on the day, and delicious goods to take home. Tideswell is a beautiful village, with plenty of pretty places to sit and enjoy a picnic of freshly-bough produce.

The wonders continue indoors too, with the village’s famous church, known as the “Cathedral of the Peak” housing an artisan Makers’ Market, with work from dozens of local artists and craftspeople on sale from jewellery and ceramics to knitwear and paintings.”

Tideswell food festival began in 2011 as a celebration of the range and quality of local food on offer in the Peak District. Its popularity has seen the festival grow year-on-year.

Live music, singing and dance from local talent will also entertain visitors throughout the day.

The Tideswell Food Festival organising team is putting emphasis on reducing the carbon footprint of the event. Traders are requested to use recyclable and compostable containers and keep waste to a minimum. The festival is organised and run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of visitors and the community.

Organisers are keen to welcome more local stallholders and artists, especially those selling organic, local or healthy foods, locally-inspired art and home-made wares.
